Dear Yuletide Writer

Dear Yuletide Writer,
Thank you for writing for me! I'm Anndy on AO3 and as you can see from my requests, I love loyalty, competence, myths, history, alternate history, what-ifs and divergence AUs. I have no strong preferences regarding POV or tense. I like gen, het and slash, and canon-typical (or below) levels of sex and violence.
Some general Do Not Wants, no value judgment intended: Mpreg, A/B/O, D/s, soulbonding/soulmates, incest, bestiality, watersports, scat, guro, necrophilia, rape with a requested character as perpetrator or victim (background mentions and references to canonical events are ok), infidelity (I dislike the cheating aspect, affairs with the knowledge and consent of the other spouse are ok, mentions and references to canonical events are ok), humiliation, genderswap, trans* characters, AUs that change the time, setting or genre of canon (ex: steampunk, coffee shop, high school), apocalypse fic (zombie or any other kind). Just to reiterate: None of these things are Bad. I like some of the stuff on this list. I read some of the stuff on this list! I just don't want it for Yuletide.
With that out of the way, here are my fandom-specific requests:
Rome: Lucius Vorenus, Titus Pullo, Niobe, Eirene
I love this show. It may have played fast and loose with history sometimes, but it really succeeded in portraying the characters as members of a different culture with a worldview that is very different from our own, and not modern people in funny clothes. I love Vorenus and Pullo and their extended family, Eirene, Niobe, Vorena&Vorena, little Lucius, Lyde... I also love the historical characters, Caesar, Pompey, Brutus, Cicero, Servilia, Octavia, Octavian...
Feel free to treat this one as an OR request.
If you’re taking all four, in their canon configuration or in an OT4 way:
-I guess I’m asking for the AU where the end of season 1 turned out differently and nobody died. It doesn’t have to be a blissful happily ever after though. Niobe’s secret has to come out at some point - how does it get resolve without murder, suicide or divorce (maybe Pullo’s presence could calm things down)? Where do they all live? The new farm? Under what pretext were Pullo and Eirene invited to live there? (You know they’d end up there eventually even if shipping doesn’t enter into the equation.) How is it to co-habitate with your ex-subordinate? Your ex-superior? Your ex-slave? Two newliweds? A bunch of kids? How do they grow closer? Don’t you think these four were tailor made for a Sedoretu AU? (Which would be my one exception for the No Setting AU DNW.)
If you’re picking and choosing:
My previous letters were full of prompts and ideas for Vorenus/Pullo, Pullo alone, Vorenus alone, and the early days of the Vorenus/Niobe marriage. So, to cover the others:
-Niobe struggling alone with two young children; getting the false report of her husband’s death; being unable to rely on her sister for emotional support for obvious reasons.
-Eirene’s first glimpse of Rome; what she initially makes of Pullo; why she agrees to marry him after he killed the man she loved (yes, enlightened self-interest, but then she genuinely comes to care for him - when did her feelings start to shift?).
-Niobe and Pullo’s uneasy I Know You Know I Know thing. She knows he’s in her husband’s corner; how can he make her understand that doesn’t mean he’s against her?
-Niobe and Eirene didn’t start off with the right foot to say the least. How can they grow to have a relationship of equals?
-Vorenus and Eirene have almost no canon interactions at all. I’d really like to know what they make of each other.
I love all these characters so much, really any combination would make me happy, but getting a fic about all four would be a dream come true!
Do not want: Character bashing. *Blatantly* modern attitudes regarding gender, gender roles, sexuality, slavery, religion, government, and so on. (They can change their minds and soften their stances on certain things, but they're still products of their time.)

Punic Wars RPF: Hannibal Barca
Let me put it this way: the Romans were the biggest, baddest mofos on the block. But this guy was the Romans' worst nightmare. The only man who came close to beating them. The man whose name Romans used to frighten their children into behaving, long after his death. They hated his guts, but they couldn't help having a certain grudging admiration for him. The man they defeated, but couldn't break. Hannibal the Carthaginian.
Mainly I want Alps-crossing shenanigans. Struggle against nature! Struggle against the weather! Struggle against the elements! Motivating the troops! Struggling to keep the elephants alive! Second-guessing himself, but being too far to turn back! Just pulling off this impossible gamble through sheer stubbornness and force of personality.
Or I'd happily take something set post-Zama. On the run, a little older, a little wiser, a little more bitter, still larger than life. Looking back, analyzing where he went wrong, looking ahead to fight another day, somehow.
Do not want: Saguntum wank; I couldn't care less who started it. Hannibal Won!AU featuring moustache-twirling Evil Overlord Hannibal and the poor, oppressed Romans. Genocide. AU where they caught him alive. Anything too grimdark (brooding and unhappiness and moments of despair are expected, but for example I'd prefer his suicide to be defiance rather than hopelessness).

Hornblower (C. S. Forester): Horatio Hornblower, William Bush, Barbara Wellesley
Ah, the Age of Sail. Bromantic men with hearts of oak and delightful uniforms (and hats!)
Bush is my favorite character. I love his steadfastness, loyalty and stoicism. I love Hornblower's perfect balance between trainwreck and competence. I love how they work together well despite vastly different command styles - and that they wouldn't want it any other way. And then you throw Barbara into the mix...
Poor Horatio always seems to want what he doesn't have. When he's with Barbara, he's pining for "better than a wife" Bush, but as soon as he's at sea he starts missing the domestic life. Really, the solution is obvious: why not both? Long live the OT3!
I'd like something post-Flying Colours and pre-Lord Hornblower (or that goes AU from it). Sheerness is really not that far from the supposed Hornblower estate. And it only makes sense to invite Bush to celebrate his new captaincy (however desk-bound) in style! And Barbara, being the astute woman she is, would notice that while Horatio is cooling his heels waiting for his next command, and Bush is valiantly struggling not to hate his post, the one thing that cheers them up is each other's company... And then Horatio comes back from the Baltic terribly sick, owing his life to Bush, who has such a hard time relinquishing the nursing duties, and he and Barbara could bond over Horatio's sickbed...
And then they all work out an arrangement and raise Richard Arthur together and there's no Caudebec, right?
